Virgin Holidays Service Lean Programme 2011
When we chose to embark on a Lean Programme we had very clear business objectives in mind and wanted to provide in depth knowledge to our own Business Improvement team and provide them with the skills and tools to enable them to roll out and embed this into the business.
Marilyn and Richard, who not only have genuine belief in and passion for Lean Management but also have a wealth of business experience between them, enabled us to not only understand the theory in a traditional classroom environment, but gave us on-going guidance and support through the initial implementation phase to ensure we genuinely understood the principles and philosophy and were able to implement them into real life business scenarios.
All the training and materials that Quantuvis provided were bespoke to our own specific business needs and goals and as a result of this, we are already able to see real benefits starting to filter through in terms of improved efficiency, improved accuracy, improved working practices and, of course, the real tangible benefit of financial savings. We would not have been able to achieve such good results so quickly without the team from Quantuvis and we are confident that the whole company will benefit from the implementation of Lean in a positive and profitable way.
Working with Quantuvis has really empowered us to implement long term, sustainable improvements and to anyone still thinking about it I would say – why wouldn’t you?
Sarah Fox Head of Business Improvement
Training Manager at Thamesteel
“We have successfully run the Business Improvement Techniques programme for our production staff over an eighteen month period. During that time we have seen the implementation of exceptional cost savings projects resulting in over £2 million saved in total.
Reduced costs have not been the only tangible pay back from the programme. Our operatives are now more confident in their own abilities, more engaged in their roles and continue to apply the techniques of Continuous Improvement learned on the programme. There is now much more of an understanding within departments of the role played by those teams outside their immediate area of work resulting in cross functional activity that utilises all the available skills and experience on a daily basis.
Thamesteel has benefited enormously from the programme both as a company in a competitive market and as an employer concerned with the continuous development of its workforce”
Gez Tingley, Training Manager, Thamesteel
Senior Production Manager at Thamesteel
The tangible benefits from the B.I.T Program are obviously outstanding, especially in these challenging economic times, but equally important are the intangible benefits such as cross functional team work and the sharing of knowledge across departments. This developing culture, which is Lean Management, will ensure success today and will allow for continued improvement going forward.

Production Director of Anglian Windows
We have been most impressed by the provision of training and NVQ assessment at levels 2 and 3 provided under the close management of Marilyn Kershaw. We have achieved to date a 100% pass rate for the employees who have entered the programme, and those employees have been transformed by the experience.
The process of NVQ in BIT in the factories has been a giant step in the development of employee engagement, continuous improvement from the bottom up, staff morale, productivity, kick starting the suggestion scheme and even into the creation of kaizen activities which looked impossible prior to the deployment.
I would thoroughly recommend the provider and the process to any organisation looking to engage all levels of its employees in accelerating the process of continuous improvement and ultimately turning the prosperity of its teams into measurable improvements in bottom line.
James Wilson, Production Director, Anglian Windows
Managing Director of Comserve
I have been very impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm on the course. I have also seen a big improvement in the team and a willingness to embrace change and challenge process and procedures. I feel this course has been fully beneficial to the team as well as to Comserve and look forward to continuously working with our new kaizen Team in the future.
